This was not a great romance novel at all!!! The synopsis gave this book a great appeal to it but as I read it, I was just sickened by the storyline. The only reason why I finished this book was because one: I thought it'd get better (it didn't) and two: i was already half way through the story so why not. Boy was I disappointed.SPOILERS:
First of: she meets Roman and the set off quickly. Then all of a sudden she gets pregnant and finds out that it was all planned. And then gets passed off to Roman's older brother Rufus and she has sex with him to "make sure" that their 'deal' goes through and she enjoys it too. And then Rufus dies and then the other brother Robert comes in and tries to take over. And then she goes back to Roman because he promised her he can get her out. They have sex. Then just so happens to kill Roman in the end when he challenges the brother Robert who is then killed by Batrand. And in the end Claire ends up with him. Like WTF!!!! This is one screwed up romance novel. I would never ever recommend this book to anyone. I am very glad this book was free. Will be deleting this book forever.

This book is filled with dark and dangerous shifters. Their world has rules no human could comprehend. A different view on the typical shifter stories, I received this as a ARC for my honest review. This book offers you sex, friendship and deception. I only complaint is that it starts off very slow then it picks up towards the end. I liked the secondary characters better than the main characters.. This is the first book I read by the author, I want to read more and I hope the next book moves at a faster pace.
At first I found it really confusing. I am not a fan of first person writing but the story kept me intrigued. I'm glad I did finish the book as I liked the ending I don't want to put in any spoilers so I'm leaving out details. This was not your typical shifter romance and I liked it for that reason. I didn't like most of the characters but that helped the story line as lets just say this was a story about the survival instinct of a woman forced into a really bad situation. Good job.
Absolutely NOT what I was expecting! In fact, you might say that this is an "unexpected" romance. Most of the characters I came to like by persevering to the end - you could say they grew on me? And my two absolute favorites are the heroine and her hero, her truly "unexpected" hero. He was the man who took control during perilous times and saved the day - and her. He saved them all and he loves her. What more could you ask?

While the story is good, and the plot is very entertaining, there is just too much drivel from Claire. The constant lengthy descriptions of her thoughts and feelings really caused me to think of moving onto another book several times. I find that some author's writing styles are exceptionally hard to read because of this same type of writing.
I will say that the storyline is good.
I have to say that I'm glad I took advantage of the one day sale and bought this book. I'm a voracious reader and love shifter romances. But the same old same old gets tiring. If you're looking for a fresh new take on this genre definitely get this book. I don't like to rehash the story lines in my reviews so I'll just say that the writing was great, the editing was great and the story draws you in right away. You want Roman to be what he seems but you don't. The heroine gives alot of introspection but it's not overdone. I got a different kind of romance from this one...an unexpected romance and it was refreshing. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author. Bravo!!!
I downloaded this story expecting a light read about an alpha male werewolf mating a human woman. It's a theme that's used a lot but I still enjoy it as its so familiar that it's a light, easy read for me. This story, however, blindsided me with its portrayal of a woman who becomes unwittingly involved in a mafia like wolf clan as a enslaved breeder. She seemed to be stuck in this situation with no rescue in sight and certainly no hero. I became riveted to what was going to happen next. She seemed to be living in a extremely dangerous situation where no one could be trusted to be an ally or to help her escape. Wow! And then watching her really find her way through trial and error was exciting. I realized that I didn't know how the story would end. Great ending! Loved reading this story and immediately looked for a 2nd book in a series. Will definitely be keeping up with this author. And this is why I LOVE to read!!!
